Kilburn comes home

The opening night of the Kilburn Music Mile Festival was more than a concert – it was a homecoming. As the doors of the Gaumont State Theatre opened, Kilburn came flooding back in. Two thousand people came through those doors on November 6th – many for the first time, some returning after decades. Some were visibly moved just by being inside. The anticipation and excitement in the room were palpable.

Kilburn State of Mind (KSOM) charity volunteers greeted guests, scanned tickets, sold festival T-shirts and made sure every one of those 2,000 felt welcome from the moment they arrived. KSOM founder Alan Medley was there to greet people personally – as he has been at the heart of everything that made this night possible.
